Meet Sasha Hemsworth, the son of Hollywood power couple Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky. Despite being part of a family full of A-listers, Sasha seems to be handling it like a champ at just eight years old.
The Hemsworth-Pataky Family Journey
Sasha Hemsworth was born on March 18th, 2014 at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, along with his twin brother Tristan.
As expected from young parents who are busy in their respective careers, there were concerns about how they would juggle their demanding work schedules while still being present for their children.
Chris spoke toPEOPLE Magazinebefore the twins’ birth about the challenges he anticipated as a father. “It makes it harder and harder to leave and go to work,” he said. “Being a father is certainly a task, but the best one that I could ever ask for.”
Elsa agreed with him and added that staying together as much as possible was essential for maintaining their bond amid busy schedules: “You have to make an effort and try to stay together as much as you can.”
Stringent efforts were made by both Chris and Elsa so that they remained close-knit even if work took them far away from home.
The Busy Life Of Sasha Hemsworth’s Father
Chris Hemsworth first became known around the world when he played the Norse god Thor in Marvel’s Avengers series starting in 2011.
However, before hitting big screens worldwide, Chris cut his teeth on Australian television shows such as Home & Away.
After several successful appearances on TV shows such as Dancing With The Stars Australia (a reality TV show) Chris hit silver screen success after landing breakthrough roles in films like Cabin In The Woods (2012).
He then went back-to-back with heart-stoppers Rush(2013), where he portrayed Formula One racing driver James Hunt opposite Daniel Bruhl’s Niki Lauda character performance; followed by Thor: The Dark World where he returned as Thor that same year.
Following his children’s arrival, Chris Hemsworth toed the line between being a dedicated father and a Hollywood actor.
To make sure he didn’t miss out on important family time during film shoots abroad, Chris made sure his wife Elsa and daughter India accompanied him.
Sasha Hemsworth’s Mother
Elsa Pataky has also had her fair share of stellar success over the years. Her first role was in a Spanish TV series called Al Salir de Clase in 1997.
She then worked predominantly within Spanish cinema before branching out to international productions following Snakes on a Plane (2006) with Samuel L. Jackson.
The actress joined Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnsons’ franchise Fast & Furious for Fast Five (2011), reprising her role as Elena three more times in its subsequent editions: Fast & Furious 6, The Fate of The Furious.
Elsa continued juggling films both nationally and internationally after becoming mother to Sasha Hemsworth.
Chris Hemsworth’s Encounter with the Reality of Alzheimer’s Risk
Despite their illustrious careers, however, there is one thing that concerns Chris – genetics.
While shooting National Geographic’s new series, Limitless, which dealt with technological innovations aimed at slowing down or reversing the aging process through genetic manipulation entailing DNA testing, Chris found himself afraid.
He learned he carried two copies of the APOE4 gene variant, which is linked to developing Alzheimer’s disease later in life.
Chris explained how the test results played up to potentially lifelong fears, despite everything going on around him.
However, this hasn’t stopped his acting career, nor has he stopped sharing it with his kids yet.
“I don’t think they could have grasped the concept or have the understanding,” said Sasha Hemsworth’s dad, adding kookily, “One day I’m sure I’ll bring it up. They probably want to test themselves.”
